VPN Issue since recent update

Hi All

I'm a newbie to the forum so thought I should stick my head round the door and say hi! I've had a NEO X8-H Plus for a few months now. Have had no issues with it and love it! Since the most recent update though the VPN icon in the top left corner of the home screen no longer indicates if I am connected (permanently greyed out) even when my VPN is connected (have verified that I am connected using geo- location). Just a bit concerned that I would not notice at a glance if my connection...

tried to update to 008 tonight, firmware on sd card (fat32) flashed to recovery mode, can move highlite up and down menu but cannot select action. ie install from ext. under the android robot there is a "no command" message.

Hello guys,

So, I´m on a Mini X Neo X-8h, and currently I´m on KOT49H.20140722. From time to time I started the Install & update-application, but it never said that there was something new so I didn´t pay much attention to it.

Now I try to update, and from what I´m understanding, I should follow this guide: http://www.minixforum.com/threads/x8-x8-plus-x8-h-official-firmware-009-20160324.11938/

I´ve downloaded the files and put them on an empty USB-stick, FAT32. Didn´t unpack the...

Minix x8 browser issue

When I go to some websites in either google or internet explorer I cant play the movie posted on the site. It will play on my mac but I cant get it to play through the browser provided on the minix.. Do I need to download a media device to play the movie? I can play on you tube and videos are fine. The error is video can not be played no media player.

I have some random reboot issue and lags.
How can I update it? I want to download maybe some file to minix and do update not via usb. Thnx!

Hello all,

I was looking through the 009 thread and it appears it has an issue with .avi files which isn't resolved.
So I just wanted an opnion on which would be the FW to sit on for the time being.

Problem with FW

My Minix NEO 8H had some kind of error message last week. I had to restart. Then it dosen´t start anymore.

AT first i saw the loading screen. waited 3 hours but no improvement.
So yesterday i tried to flash a new FW after reading this post:

But i cannot get any further then 5-6% the error message is
UBOOT/Partition boot/Initialize partition/Error result
i Think i have a Minix NEO 8H not a Minix NEO 8H...

HELP with flashing X8-H

I"m trying to flash X8-H with OTG method, but keep getting this error:

[0x30402004]UBOOT/Partition boot/Initialize partition/Error result

The box stop working one day, when it is only a black screen when boot up.

Hi,

I upgraded to the latest Firmware 009 (20160324) and the accompanying latest XBMC.

When I select any source to stream from the Exodus or Specto-Fork apps within XBMC, the X8-H device turns off and I get a "No Signal" on my TV.

When I press the power button, it returns to the same screen as if nothing happened.

Weird, what could the relationship possibly be between an apparent XBMC error and the device stopping the HDMI output signal?

This didn't happen before the upgrade, but then...

Latest KODI for NEO X8

I have NEO X8 with FW 009 and XBMC 13.
Please where can I find the latest KODI for NEO X8? I'm looking at forum, but I can not find.

I installed official release of Kodi 16.1 "Jarvis" (24. 04. 2016.) from Google Play Store.
Is this a good version for the NEO X8 or I can expect some problems and incompatibilities?

BTW, now I have and XBMC 13 and KODI 16.1.

Can't upgrade X8-H

I'm still running the original firmware where OTA upgrades doesn't work so I figured I should finally upgrade it. I connect a USB-cable from my Win10 PC to the micro-USB port on the minix, start up the burning tool but there's no device there.

I can browse the minix from my PC but it doesn't show up in the burning tool so the cable seems to work fine. If I select the firmware and click start, nothing happens other than the start-button changing to stop. I left it there for 45 mins before I...

sound on iptv apk

I have the minix x8 h loaded with latest software.
My problem is that when i try to play channels on iptv i am always loosing the sound. When i first start the sound is OK but soon as I change channel the sound goes off and the sound bar changes to either showing as at very start or at very end of bar.
I have tried both connections via HDMI or PDM.
Has anyone such experience and suggests to me how to solve this out.

After using this minix for a while and having sound dissapearing issues, I finally found out what was causing this. As Minix haven't fixed the issue yet or even acknowledged there's a problem, I wouldn't hold my breath on them fixing the issue any time soon - although it's a software issue and nothing to do with hardware.

People that use usb devices with audio, such as Minix A2 air mouse or other air mouse's with sound support seem to be having these sound disappearing issues when using Kodi...
